Hello Guys,
Fellow scooby owner (rally car only at current) here.
Some of you may know me, 98% wont.
Have you got a boss who takes an interest in Motorsport/Rallying ?
Have you got a company and intersted in Motorsport/Rallying ?
Do you think you can help ?
I wont bore you with full dribble, but those who think they can help etc... can contact me on Alex307d@aol.com or via my website Alex Allingham Rallying
I'm trying to seek out some sponsorship after winning the 2007 Clubman Production cup within the BTRDA rally championship, I also came 3rd Under 25 Driver, 3rd Production Cup Driver, and 3rd Class N4 driver. I'm hoping with some funding and help to better that in 2008 and progress through the sport.
I've also recently lost my vinyl graphic supplier (was supplying graphics F.O.C but had a good size advert on the car) so if you do stickers etc... Maybe you can help.
I've tried umpteen attempts at sending out sponsorship proposals etc.. and trying my local (unhelpful) subaru dealer for some backing, but all to no avial.
If you can help get in touch ASAP ! , or if you cant your welcome to just post some support below !!
Maybe you recently saw me at the Grizedale stages 2007 where i finished a respectable 6th Overall out of 104 starters and 2nd GpN despite only having a low spec GpN car (Near standard) and being only 50 seconds behind a £200,000 Hyundai WRC car. !!
If you've seen me at an event, give me a shout !
All the best for 2008 to everyone.
Alex.

Impressive for a "PROPER" GpN Car.
i.e nearly standard road car. (obviously there are a few trick bits)
Compared to most apparent GpN Cars, which are running Dogbox, Fancy Fuel, Carbon this, Carbon that.
My old GC8 has Beaten many N10,N11,and N12's. !! (all the gear but no idea people)
No gear, some idea. (thats me)

Good luck matey...I know its hard work to get someone to give you some of THEIR money for something YOU enjoy doing...
Me and a mate do a handfull of single venue Tarmac stuff per year and are just about to pay out for an expensive engine rebuild...(works in progress).
Again good luck and keep it safe..
cheers

I have an idea, scoobynet currently has 76,557 members so if we all put £5 in that would raise £382,785. Would that be enough for a season ?
We could have the car done in scoobynet graphics so it will be easily noticed.
I`m sure scoobynetters would throw a few quid into the pot.

How about like the Benetton where each donatee buys a small square of the advertising space on the car for a few quid.... job done.
Would be a shame if you couldnt compete this year.
How much do you need for the series?

Hi Guys
Thanks for the Response !! Much appreciated !
I'm not asking for a free ride, although it may look like that from the outside,
I will be doing the series Dynamix, it's just i could do better with some decent backing. £382,000 would enable to buy a WRC car !! lol
But if i could get some substantial sponsorship, it would mean things like "more tyres"
For example, people at the front of the field are using 2 sets of tyres per rally if not more, as apposed to the likes of me who uses one set of four, and if i'm doing well, i'll stick two more tyres on. Bear in mind tyres are nearly £100 a piece. And trying to get a tyre deal out of the tyre company is like trying to get blood out of a stone. Unless your spending absolute fortunes with them.
I dont smoke, i drink very little (at home) and pretty much work purely to fund my rallying, not really got any other hobbies except generally medaling with cars. It's just a shame that there is always that guy there with the latest car, all the gear, and no idea. It does bring great satisfaction beating people in my old GC8 car when they just spent in excess of £40-50k on their latest car.
I also run pump fuel (optimax admittadly) , most others run Carless fuel at nearly £2.50 a litre. !!
Thanks to n one (Neil) ! Do i know you ? have we spoke, or you just seen the car whizz past. I have thought of ringing SWRT Dave Richards, but i think there is probably more candidates than me.
For those of you interested, I'm also doing the Ludlow Gravel Sprint on 20th January. Based in Haye Park forest, it's basically a single stage done 3 times one way, and 3 times in reverse direction. If you see the car go past again, but slower, that'll be my dad ! He might be "sharing" my car.
Any Questions guys, fire away !!
Also thanks to those who are asking their Boss for a little help/sponsorship and advertising. Remember, Corporate days can be arranged !!

I serviced for a mate who won the Peugeot challenge back in 2003, for 2004 he stepped up to the BRC in a Fiat Stilo (car was pants) but anyway, we organised a Men and Motors night at a local Hotel.
The idea was basically to send invites out to alot of bussinesses in the Area, there was strippers, comedians etc an a video of previous rallying achievements plus lots and lots of drink.
That night only we got £5000 in cheques and loads of contacts, in the end i think the championship cost £70k and nearly all of that was raised by sponsorship.
One company would say, i'll pay for tyres.
The next would say, i'll pay for accomodation.
It really worked well as the bosses got a chance to meet the person who they were sponsoring and its easier to get money out of people when they are pi$$ed
Good luck with it post some pics of you on the rallys

Not got an SN Ltd/Mod/Official hat on here but I'm sure there would be a good number of members on here who would pay £10/£20 for a mention on the side of the car, simillar to the chap who sold pixels on a web-page. 100 people paying a tenner buys a few tyres and might fit on the back of the bootlid sort of thing? There was a bike team who did something like. I'd be up for that.
Anyone else?
