Default North East newbie saying hello!

Hi all,

Just become a new addition to scooby ownership having just bought a MY00 UK turbo. I have wanted to be an owner since I drove a directors demonstrator in 1994 and when my FTO had a little errrrr....mishap recently , I took the plunge and decided to give myself a long awaited treat.
First impressions? WOOHOO! OMG! Yes! Ahem, anyway, I will post some pics as soon as the weather gives me time to clean and polish my new PAJ .
In the mean time just wanted to say hi and apologise in advance for all the stupid questions I will no doubt be asking .

Cheers.

Welcome I have a UK MY2000 too - a green one.

Do you have an interest in the Anglo-Saxon period?

Cheers

I have forgotten more than what I learned but many years ago I did a project at school which looked into Anglo Saxon life in Durham and Northumberland. As I was born in Durham City and have lived all my life in the county, when I first started using forums it just seemed appropriate to use and has stuck since.

I'm from Newton Aycliffe, anyone local you recommend for servicing/tuning work?! I think the car is standard apart from a decat Magnex exhaust and K&N induction kit, however, the boost gauge shows 14PSI when I am pushing on so I wonder if it has been remapped at some point ? Is there a way I can check this or would I need to take it to a specialist for them to check it over?
Many thanks for any help you can give!

John Pye Motorsport in Bishop Auckland
AS Performance in Birtley, Washington.

Stay away from A19 Test & Tune, they don't have a great rep apparently with Impreza's.

i get my servicing done at SG PETCH in richmond, they're a main dealer though, i don't bother with GMD near durham, had a few issues with them.
john pye and as performance a quite near to you as well.
import car parts at west auckland can supply all servicing parts

Hello mate, welcome aboard

We will probably see you at the shell garage on woodlands road darlo sometime, as its the only place for miles you can find the much loved shell v-power.

I agree with Rooter, I also drive down from Bishop to Petch's in Richmond. Its only about half an hour away. They are great bunch of lads and really know what they are doing. Will be off there for a service shortly myself.

Another shout for SG Petch in Richmond if you have any worries, great dealership, small rural place with a few blokes that really know their stuff.

Get onto TyneTeesScoobies as well mate, I'm just down the way at Ingleby Barwick. Glad to see another local join the fold.

Andy Kindon from chester le street gets my vote. A bit of a travel for you but he knows his stuff and very decent prices too.

Just a one man band but he usualy has 4 or 5 scoobs in, ask on tyne tees scoobies about him.

Enjoy
