Default Speedo Change

Morning All.
I am emergrating to Aus at the end of the year ( Hopefully).
If it comes off I will be taking the scooby. I need to find someone around the north west who can change the speedo to K.P.H and calibrate it.
Any ideas
Cheers Guys.
Ps Thanks for the help on the speed pulse......

How about the speedo from an import. They will already be in kph. I would imagine that they would be a direct swop. I know that coverters are available to go the other way, i.e. from kph to mph, but have never heard of mph to kph.

IIRC the speedo can be corrected with ECUTEK software which changes the Pulse "Out". you just neeed then to change the "M" in MPH to a "K"

you can get it tweaked or set up for their fuel at the same time

Changing the pulse "In" can upset the DCCD (if fitted)

Although i do believe Austrailia has a simular "SVA" type import system as England.

I was going to post this question in a few weeks once everything's sorted. Whereabouts you going?

Chris.

What car you got? Loads of used speedos available here in Japan....
Only problem is JDM cars have speed up to 180kph, apart from a few exceptions.

In my experience (as as Australian), officialdom there can be a bit ridiculous.
I personally wouldn't have thought it would be worth the bother of importing your car there, especially if it is modded. I may be wrong though.
Perhaps when you get there you can let us know how you got on.
I am from Adelaide - "Eastbourne of Australia" I like that
Good luck, and if they ask you what you think of the place - the correct answer is "It's fantastic!"

The last time we were there we landed in Adelaide and stayed there a few days, so got an idea of the place. Then drove to Melbourne. While we were in Adelaide we could hear the locals giving their cars some stick around the streets from the hotel. Some nice cars there.

I've decided I'll be settling in either Melbourne or Sydney (because of work), just waiting for work to sort out redundancy, and a couple of other things and then I'm off.
