Default scooby newb looking for advice

evening all,

just registered on your site after lurking for a while. I'm looking to buy an impreza...thinking about getting an sti wrx model. i'm thinking of spending about 10k.

is there any major servicing issues that appear at certain milages that i should look out for (e.g. i know some beemers can require a lot of work at around the 75k mark).

would 10k get a decent wrx or will i have to spend more?

are there any specialist insurers that like insuring scooby's at decent rates? I've got no no claims as i've not had a car for a while (been on a bike for the last year). best quote i've had for a 99 wrx (an import version) for TPFT was about 650 per annum.

Think I'll buck the trend on threads like this and say forget an sti and get a P1.

A-Plan are very resonable for insurance, as you have no no claims it may be cheaper if you got a WRX instead of STI.

Best places for looking are Pistonheads, Autotrader and Ebay. All online of course. I'd pretty much limit my main searches to these 3 places, of course there is Scoobynet too.
