Maintenance after expiry of 3yr warranty
My 2005 2 litre unmodified WRX is just coming out of the 3 yr warranty. I'm happy with the service from Subaru UK dealers but it's expensive and I'm wondering if there are any reliable independent specialists in the Edinburgh area who I could use in future ? Any replies appreciated. Thanks.

Not that expensive TBH. Join SIDC for 10% off at places like Grieve in Falkirk. With that, my cambelt service was just over £300 - same as the 'cheaper' independent specialists.
Just the back of Falkirk there is also Hypertech.

Thanks for all the replies.
Now if I'd been asking nonsense like "what petrol" or "what oil" or "what dump valve" or "should I get a remap" or "was it you" etc etc I'd have been bowled over with a hundreds of replies - but probably wouldn't have been any better informed at the end of the day!!

Nice attitude! lol The questions you mention above are all pertinent to Impreza ownership. Also your original question is very localised, with the majority of people on here not being from Scotland, more over, not from the Edinburgh area, you're not going to get many replies!
Maybe you would have been better off asking on www.scottishscoobies.co.uk. It has the biggest contingent of Scottish owners. I'm in Fife and I'm lucky enough yo know the owner of a local respected garage, so get good rates and know my car is in good hands.
