Hello and greetings, nice to meet y'all )

I'm currently in the market for a new motor, as my MKII Golf Driver is on its last legs (the starter went on new years day, which was the last straw. I reckon 160k ain't bad considering the abuse it's got though). Anyway, since I'm here you can probably guess I'm looking at Scoobys.

I'm on a pretty limited budget (around 2k) and, much as I'd like to, I can't really afford the insurance on a turbo beast. Well, I can't justify it anyway. So I've been looking at 2.0 Sport Impreza Wagons. (Has to be a Wagon so I can fit bikes in the boot).

Just a couple of questions really - what are these like to drive? They don't seem that powerful (about 113brake I think) but the 0-60 time is decent, and anything's gonna be quick after a knackered 1.6 Golf. I'm more bothered about having a laugh on twisty lanes than all out speed, I believe they handle pretty well?

Do the rear seats fold down? I assume they do, but it could be a problem if not!

And y'know, is there anything else I should know!
