Default New Sti and Evo vs hawkeye and Evo 9 ... interesting vid.

Not sure if people have seen this already (its on NASIOC) but in the line of Tsukuba battle videos we have the new sti and the two versions of evo (different gearboxes) doing battle against the older variants.

Interesting result... You Tube new Sti V Evo

Tony.

Looks a good bit faster on the straights too, nice. The Spec C should be cracking!

It is being driven by the fastest guy there imho, Keiichi Tsuchiya.

Currently downloading the December(EVO X) and January(New STi) editions of the BM DVD's. Should be more of the same on those!

For reference, the quickest stock Subaru went round Tsukuba in 1.04:49, it was a Spec C.

I also agree

I don't think the X's look anywhere near as good as the "EXO X Concept" perhaps the Swan has turned into a Frog by the look of it's mouth IMHO

New sti seems to be in a different league to rest judging by that performance,it just seems to hold on so much better in the corners and be way quicker straightline!.An impreza making evo's look understeery, thats what you call a role reversal for the better.

EVO X vs STI - Tsukuba Lap Times - Autoblog

Perhaps just taken fastest laps and not realised the diferences betweeen a STi and Spec C

Quite interesting video. Perhaps this is the year that Subaru over take Mitsubishi in the battle stakes?

I kinda like the Imp a tad more now, but only in STi form.

It looks horible maybe, but things can be done to it to change that. Certainly seems to have the technology underneath it....

This looks a little nicer

Edit: Have to put link to post because hotlinking didnt work (check page 14): Harman Motive's 2008 STI - Major Update Pg 14 #136 (Dyno, tailight film, brakes, etc) - IWSTI.com: Subaru STI Forums

Im waiting to see it in the flesh, but watching that certainly makes my pockets nervous!

The Red overlays certainly improve the Back end

Interesting to see what Power output will be after a few more small tweaks

isn't there a electronic Handbrake on the new STi??

He may not be actually engaging the brake to actually "Brake", but giving a signal to DCCD

My explanation may not be 100% Technically correct. Subaru's with DCCD when handrake is pulled "disengages rear Diff for handbrake turns" becoming more like a Front wheel drive car and "Pulling" it out of the corner

Tony

I think he did, as the back started to go one time. I thought he was trying to balance the front end.

That light film does make a good improvement. I can't wait to see/drive one myself.
