Did someone say n00bie?
Must have, cos thats what I am.
Thought i would say hello - just turned to the dark side and picked up my first impreza about 2 hours ago. Taking it easy until i get some new rubber put on and maybe the brake pads changed, but so far its all good
Got a 04 wrx, totally standard, nice and clean, full service etc etc.
First impressions of the car is its a lot quieter and smoother ride than I imagined. Couldnt put my foot down in the car as every time i tried the better half grabbed the door handle and got "that look" on her face... Im sure most of you know what "that look" is like but from the occasional punch of the GO pedel it seemed to pick up nicely.
If anyone is in the MK/Northampton area i'll have to come on the next meet so i can quiz some of you on your cars.
Take care and have fun out there.
Kris

oh no, im getting pushed to mod the thing already lol.
Not sure what one of them is tbh so ill have a search. i need to get some basics out the way first, but then i'll start looking into adding some nice bits and bobs. I dont really do heavy modding, just this and that (more for making the car better than looks or anything).
I'll get some sorted soon then link them up here. I'll keep my eyes open for the next MK one and come meet some of you (prob come with a mate who is already a member here from MK... dont know his user id though)

Rear droplinks and rear anti-roll bar will set you back around £150.. and it'll be the best £150 you'll have ever spent on a car.

ah ive just found what your talking about. tahts not an expensive mod and will be on the list after the tyres and stuff
Quick question for anyone in the area - where do you get your car serviced? Subaru website doesnt list a dealer in MK anymore and the nearest is aylesbury or luton i think. Failing that its finding a specialist i guess... any pointers?

Try drifting round roundabouts with the better half in the car or just caning it with 400+ horses at the rear wheels. "That look" becomes more like "no sex for a month".

Hi mate, it's Simon. Top stuff matey and well done for picking up that wrx! You are going to be most happy with it! Red is a colour I haven't seen much of around MK so you are defo going to stand out.
You can learn alot about your new car from the guys on here, a great bunch and makes owning a scoob so much more fun and pleasurable.
Will meet up soon mate and compare notes! Be great to have a mate to go to these meets with!!
usually 1st Sunday of every month at Westcroft from 7ish onwards. Great fun, although there is a hold on them until the weather warms up! There is a breakfast meet next Sat, look at the southern forum for it (posted my mirrors).
Glad you joined our group!

hay simog... lol, still laugh at calling you that.
good to see you here, and hopefully i'll be able to meet you and a few others at either this weekends drive or one of the normal monthly meets.
I just had my new tyres fitted so decided to take the car out for a proper drive on the a43 (remember that stretch of road!)... needless to say it was the first time i really floored it and im impressed. not face-ripping speed but very smooth and fun... though im sure i was able to watch the petrol needle go down as fast as the rev counter was going up
The monkey that did the tracking set the wheel slightly to the left like what happened in the '2 so im going back tomorrow to give them a telling off!
