Do any of you have a Snooper SD 815is £245(Radar/Laser detector) and a Snooper SLD 920 £289 (Laser jammer) and if so would you recommend buying them, I feel I need a little extra protection.

On all the reviews of radar detectors that I have seen Bel always seem to come out on top - I have got a Bel 855 (I don't think they do it any more though) it is pretty good though.
My understanding is that detectors are legal but any thing that interferes with the radar signal (ie a jammer) is illegal
- just something to bear in mind!

I was considering buying a radar detector recently. The Bell 980(?) comes out better than the Snoopers. See the autoexpress web site.
What put me off buying a detector was that they do not detect the newer cameras: SVDD(?) and Truvelo.
The only protection I would get from the detector would be from Gatso and plod on bridges etc pointing the portable radar devices.
In the end I didn't think it was worth the expense.

There is also a new gadget that uses GPS to pinpoint Fixed Gatso's etc but can't remember what it is called. I have a Bel portable detector which is ok for laser and mobile gatso. However it is also excellent at detecting petrol stations with automatic doors !!!
Will probably have a look at the Autosport Show to see whats available.
