Default just a quick one

guys

just a quick question regarding the standard clutch and gearbox n a 99 uk turbo, basicly dont wnat to stretch it too far and pushing its limits and i understand that different boxes may variey but

what is a safe power bhp and tourque for a 1999 uk turbo gearbox and clutch

any pointers would be great

Torque is the killer. 300Ib/ft is the generally accepted safe limit but many have gone further and their gearboxes have lived to tell the tale. Some have gone way further
A big factor is how the car is driven. If Santa Pod is your thing then forget the OE box/clutch

...btw, i ran my MY99 with 313/300 on the std box + Scoobyclinic fast road clutch from 83k to 111k with no issues

if the clutch was uprated would this help to take the strain off the box?

as for torque would the 320 to 340 mark be ok and what bhp can they take or does that not make a difference?

sorry for the questions but not had a uk car b4
