Default 2004 uk wrx

guys just a quick one

what power can a 2004 uk wrx engine take, on the standard internals without pushing it too much?

would it take around 340-350bhp or any more or any less?

Tuners vary in opinion between 300 and 320. Gearbox struggles to cope above 340 apparently. Whats your budget and what power are you after

Not necessarily. For MY03 onwards the boxes are a bit stronger. Also, mechanical sympathy goes a long way.

Engine should cope with in the region of 380bhp, if you take the usual care re warm up etc. Gearbox anything from 350bhp, depending on how you (ab)use it.

All IMHO etc.

sorry should explain a little more

the engine is a 2004 uk wrx, but it has been fitted in a 99 uk turbo

so as for the engine itself the 2004 uk wrx engine should be ok for 350bhp+ then?

and the gearbox is a 99 uk turbo and sholud be ok for 340 lb torque?

thanks

steve
