I'm thinking of buying a Impreza Sport 2.0 but want some info on it first like
How reliable is it?
MPG?
Power?
What points should i look at before i buy it?
What parts if any go wrong regular?

A lot of people on this board will tell you that a Sport is not worth having and only the Turbo models are any good. I think that's too harsh.
In distant the past I have run both a 2.0 Sport and also a turbo (classic), and I quite enjoyed the Sport. Obviously you don't get the turbo kick in the back, but the handling is good, you can drive it hard and not get into any serious trouble. If you get a decent Sport (there are various different specs) then I would say they can be a pretty good buy, it all depends on your budget and how you will use the car.
You don't say what age/budget you are looking at.
The 124bhp models (came out around 1998/99) are very reliable and will give 25-35mpg. I don't think there is anything that regularly goes wrong with them and nothing specific to check that is different to any other car. Subarus in general are tough and reliable cars. Obviously they are AWD so there is a little added complexity and risk there. You should be able to get standard service parts from motor factors.
The Newage cars are improved all around. The blobeye Sport (2003- model) was rated as 'Worth Considering' by Which? magazine.
The last of the Sports (2005-2007 Hawkeye) designated 2.0R or 2.0RX are a different kettle of fish in that they use the four-cam 160bhp engine and have body, trim and chassis which is much more like the WRX. I bought one of these last year (Malta import) for my wife and we're well pleased with it - goes nice, fuel economy is good (for a Subaru) and insurance is cheap.

I had a Sport before my 04 WRX. Great cars for what they are, I had a lot of fun with it. Took it to powerstation on the RR for a laugh a couple of times, completely standard it got 126bhp, then after a manifold and backbox, 138bhp ! If only I had got it on after I'd decatted it.
Really enjoyed owning that car, because as said, you can thrash it (when warm
) and a) it won't break b) you're not going to get in that much trouble because it's not that fast.
Main thing I'd say is the clutch, very expensive job to do as with all Subarus. Obviously you don't want a chavved up one which has been thrashed from cold etc. Just go drive a few and you'll be able to tell a good 'un from a bad 'un.

Great cars, but please remember it aint a Turbo, so it aint gonna be anywhere near as fast as one either. So many people buy a Sport only to sell up a few months later cos its slow, they aint 'slow' they just aint as fast as a Turbo.
But great cars none the less, and you can have have plenty of fun modding/driving one.

Cheers for the reply's, I'm only 23 and the insurance is a bit steep and with doing 54mile a day work the turbo would drain all my wages. I'll be looking at getting a Turbo in a few years when the insurance has gone down to a reasonable price.
My budget is too about £3500 max maybe alittle more if needs be and hopefully there will be some that haven't had stupid bodykits on it.

Won't hear a bad thing said about Sports. Had one for three years, it never gave me a problem and saw 160k before I sold it. They're plenty quick enough 90% of the time and as above a few choice mods are well worth it.
They're also about 40kg lighter than a Type RA

I was just about to ask about what sort of mods would you do with the steering and engine.

As i said before mate, nip across to www.imprezasport.net.
Most people put 17"s on, I have 18"s on mine and it handles fine.
Suspension wise, springs and rear ARB seems to be a popular choice. Front solid drop links if you want to take it a bit further.
Performance wise, you wont gain much power wise from a sport, but you can help it along a little.
A good panel filter is a good start, followed by a decent backbox and centre section (Scoobyworlds afterburner range is very popular) also Borla unequal length headers free up a few ponies (5-8 ish) but more importantly release the famous scooby burble.
You could also perform a decat of either one or both cats. This will add to the volume, massively, from the exhaust, but may lose you a bit of torque as i have found out (but i get the burble, so i dont care)
