Still never seen one other than on a delaer's forecourt.

Bulldog at Twyford have changed the grilles on both their demonstrators and its a big improvement.

I told the guys at SMG at Taplow and they've been down for a look-see!

That be mine then.

Yep change the grille and it looks a ton better.

I bought mine here in Brisbane. The grille is standard and it also comes with tints and drilled peddles [not standard in the UK].

As far as the car goes.

It's not a classic so most won't like it [I'm an ex-classic owner and have had classics for 9 years so this is a bit of a change]

Anyway onwards......

Usual pitfalls with Subaru Fisher Price plastics and a bad paint job.

Seats built for wide @sses and nowhere near as good as old.

Looks Mazda 3, BMW 1 and so on - yeo it's a change but it's growing on me and it still has a bonnet scoop.

Handling - Boaty compared to a MY99 classic but by christ it hold sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better in the corner. With electronic gizmos it's so much fun depite a bit more roll. I was having the craik with ojne of the mechanics - he got piccies of a MY06 and the new scoob, same corner same speed. Old had 3 wheels on the tarmac the new had all 4 - a lot more rigid.

Pick up - just as quick [well maybe 0.1 or 0.2 slower] and not in ya face. Maybe that's because of the low down torque. Still brings a smile to my face

All round - it's better no question. Granted it's different but better. And at the moment it's a head turner and I've had over a dozen people chatting to me in car parks [].

The real problem and the reason it's being slated is that it isn't THAT much better.

Bring on the STi [though allegedly that's softened up too, not sure cos it was good on my test drive ]

Hope that answers some critics.

Dons flame suit and waits

Roo

The amricans seem to like the new impreza
Comparison Test: 2007 Ford Shelby GT vs. 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI

Ive seen a few wrxs and stis here in Japan, very ugly car, but still quite promising performance wise. Sadly, seems to be better than the new evo (by quite a long stretch)

I have to say the STI doesn't look too bad in that Youtube vid above, and the idea of a 4WD hatchback is appealing to me - I just wish they would re-design that front end and the rear lights.

Saw half a dozen STI's on my hols in LA last week, actually look a lot better in the flesh, but the grill and rear lights still look crap!! They've got really nice 5 spokes on them and look a lot better than the multispokes we've seen.

Think the Mrs summed it up when she said she's trade her wagon for one, as it's a girls car!!!!

The women do seem to like them - my Mrs has never liked any Subaru, but she said she doesn't mind the new one
