Yeah thats a lot of work for little improvement in performance... Also if its the insurance your worried about a 1.6 with 1.8 engine probably costs more to insure than a standard 1.8.

the 1.6 engine is nackered so a dont realy have a choice but to swap engines and theres alot more 1.8's than 1.6's plus the fact i'am only 18 so i cant get insured on a turbo so thats that out the question lol
is it an easy swap from a 1600 to an 1800???

I'm 19 an i've got a turbo, i brought it just after me 18th. The insurable mate. Just gotta shop around.
Mines an import aswelll so it's a bit more pricey than uk specs.
