Got mine done through an independant dealer though, made it a tad cheaper!

RAC Trackstar. Should have been 300 plus fitting but got it fitted for free as a sweetner for buying the car. Had to get it because Tesco were the only insurer i could use at the time and they demanded i fit one!

i am sure the falocn is a good system but 600 is a bit high in my opinion

as far as i have read in the past that most trackers are not the best at doing their job anyway

are the rac trakstars any good?

Hmm, for my scooby if i have the money nothing is high enough, as to "most" have you tried more then 1 or 2?

I tried 6 different trackers, before i decided on my present 1, and it is my opinion the best for the last 3 years.

Clifford Concept 600 + all the extras.

I had a Clifford alarm fitted and the ignition "live" was accidentally left disconnected from my Trackstar that was already fitted to my Sti, by the time I had driven from the fitting shop for less than a mile, my mobile rang to tell me my Trackstar had activated. After explaining I had just had a new alarm fitted the girl told me what they must have done, as above, so I had to have that remedied but was well pleased at their response.
Hope this helps.

i had a tracker monitor before cost around 350 with 100 quid a year fees. alot of insurance companies require trackers now and i think the monitor is one of the cheapest.

had 4 imprezas b4 this one all with trackers already fitted, so never had to deal with it b4

what i mean devilhimself is and i agree with you that what ever it needs parts wise the car gets it to keep it uptogether, but regarding th etracker as i say 4 imprezas soo far onto my 5th and i have never had to use the tracker which was already fitted so i dont want to spend 600 quid on something i cross fingers still wont have to use!

i just wanted to find a tracker which was value for money etc etc

so makes and models would be great

Id spend as little as possible for a number of reasons. The devices are fitted so poorly and with such little imagination/effort that theyre very easily found and disabled or removed. I have a couple of small cheap gadgets that will block the GPS and GSM signals, without the need for such an effort: for £50-odd I can turn all (apart from the first 'retrieve'-type devices which use radio frequency direction finding) 'trackers' into expensive paper weights.

It makes you think, doesnt it?
