Hi guys ive only just registered today so be patient with me lol ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I recently purchased my 2005 wrx and have had a full de-cated 4inch exhaust system added to it as well as a blitz airfilter. Im assuming my b.h.p will be around 240 with these mods??
Im going to have a ecu-tek remamp done at "torque of the devil" in uxbridge middx which will then give me about 270? What else can i do to take it up to or over 300bhp? ive been told a larger turbo, if so where can i get one that wont cost the earth.
Hope you can help....!

If you have had the car de-catted, you must get it remapped otherwise you may damage your engine.
To get to 300 bhp I would suggest the following, this is what I have done to mine:
STI VF35 Turbo
STI Pink Injectors
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
Decatted up pipe
Sport Cat Downpipe
STI Top mount intercooler
ECU Remapping
Should see you around the 300 bhp mark.

Just so happens that I have completed my power mods. 02 bugeye wrx wagon.
Had it mapped by andy f last week and got 300bhp and 316lbft of torque.
already had panel filter and turbo back de cat.
additional mods to acheive this were:
Andy F TD04 hybrid turbo - £450 with exchange
Ported and wrapped oe headers and sti up pipe - £200
Sti pink injectors - £250
Walbro 255l p/h fuel pump £50
STi intercooler, y pipe and undertray - £150
Andy F re map - £575
Other bits and bobs such as gaskets etc were £100
Have got enough change out of £2000 to get whiteline arb's, drop links and anti lift kit.
See my scooby for full spec, and read my top rated thread. Any advice you need on planning, sourcing and fitting drop me a PM.
Car is much improved even on lower boost setting, but is unbeleivable on the high boost setting. Andy says this set up is top notch and the car will be faster than others with larger turbos up to about 5500/6000 rpm due to low spool of the turbo. Cannot reccomend this set up enough.

You need to be careful driving it fully decatted without a remap..!
Actually, you won't have gained much if anything from your present mods as the ecu will have compensated trying to keep emissions in check..![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Either of spikes or marks options should see you right. The first giving ~30bhp more (ie 320-350) but the second having better response/spool at slightly lower rpm. Both make excellent fast road cars..!![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
The choice is yours and I doubt you'll be disappointed with either..!

Is there a difference between a classic and the new age concerning decat downpipes? I'm having a decat downpipe fitted today (04 wrx ppp),does this mean I need a remap? Will the car not run properly if this is the case? I'm beginning to wish I had'nt bothered! Mick.

chances are nothing will happen but if it does you'll get lots of lovely metal fins in your engine. Not good.
Better getting it mapped to be safe. Cheaper than an angine at least.

What he said
Personally I would wait for the remap until after you finish the work, if the car is not a daily driver...
View my Plus Profile for the list of stuff I did to mine to achieve 312bhp (I LOVE IT

If you are looking for around 300bhp, the TD04 hybrid is the way to go in my opinion.
Mine made 314bhp & 328lb/ft, which is as good as a lot of VF35s make and no loss of spool.
