Default Suspension mods

Hi guys after some wisdom . I have 500 sheets to spend on suspension upgrades for my my05 sti. What do you think would be the best Mods to go for. I want to retain what little comfort there is but stiffen things up a little so it doesnt feel like I am going to tip over in the apex of a corner

So far I have worked out I need to change the springs and get 4 wheel alignment after that not sure on the rest of the mods as well as which type of springs to get.?

Now I am willing to travel to get the car set up properly but if there are any good/trustworthy specialist's in my area could someone let me know. I reside in Darlington area which is in the N/East.

All replies greatly appreciated

Many thanks Laura

If you're willing to travel you could go to Powerstation and get the Stage 1 suspension upgrade - £460 plus VAT. There's probably someone in your area that does a similar package.

It's been done to death recently, try searching, reading & posting in the suspension forum.

If you're lazy, read below:

- PD Springs £190
- Whiteline 22mm Rear Adj ARB £60
- Whiteline ALK £110
- 4 Wheel geometry £55

Will run you a little over £500 if having to include labour.

As mentioned:

1. Prodrive springs.
2. Perrin/Whiteline rear ARB.
3. Perrin/Whiteline rear drop links.
4. 4 wheel alignment

Approx £500 of your hard earn't cash

Wolfie.

Whiteline Whiteline Whiteline!

Seriously can't believe you want to "stiffen things up" more in an STI though.. and retaining comfort whilst doing so seems like some bizarre contradiction in terms to me..

IMO Front and rear ARBs will remove some of the leaniness. Get the adjustable ones so you can tailor the response to your needs.

As stated, this subject is "popular". Lots of threads in general and Suspension about it.

Morning Laura.

For £500 I'd go for the Prodrive Spring kit. Cost me £480 fitted a SG Petch of Richmond. (Great bunch of lads down there).

I have them on my 05 STI PPP. They work very well also with 18" wheels. Car deffo feels grippier and handles better with the spring kit, and ride comfort is improved.

PS. I'm also from Darlington. What colour is your Scoob? I'll keep an eye out for you and give you a little wave.

PPS. What Cosworth did you have before? I've always been a Fast Ford fan, and I'm planning on going back if the new Focus RS is 4WD.
Any pics of your Cosworth?
