I agree, most of their older cars look seriously ropey, newer ones maybe ok tho. I was looking at a few cars and walked away straight away!!!

From my Supra days I only heard bad reviews, but can't fully comment as never dealt with them myself.

Some of the new stuff is spot on, One of the lads down this way had a New spec C off them and it has nothing wrong with it at all, only had 136 miles on the clock and this seems genuine. He trade in a mint 04 STI that someone on here has since bought.
So thats two cars that they have sold that are mint!!!!
You get what you pay for, there older stuff is cheaper than anywhere else, if in doubt get an inspection

Their old stock is a mixed bag, if your not experienced at buying older motors I would stay well clear or at least get a pro mechanic to take a proper look around the car.
I found 90% of their old stock to have been in some form of an accident, some serious, some with just bad panel fits where the job was not done properly and others had various scratches/bumper damage usually caused during the journey over here from Japan.
Their new stock looked spot on, I couldn't fault the newage/hawkeyes or the various Evo's and Skylines.
End of the day you get what you pay for, if you find something at an importer you like, get it checked out no matter how good a reputation the place has and if there is anything wrong, make sure it something you can deal with.
Jap Performance are a good bunch, very helpful and knowledgeable

I bought an Sti V1 from them a few years ago before i discovered this site, I was young and stupid I admit it!
Anyway the car was shocking condition, needed a new radiator and water pump within a few days of buying it, which they did replace to be fair, anyway about a month later two psitons melted and I needed an engine rebuild which cost about £1500 and they would only pay half.
After that it was a decent car, but I definately would not touch them again.
The only redeaming thing for me was a traded in a Mitsi GTO twin turbo which gearbox was on the way out and needed a rebuild, they didn't check it over at all and gave me double what it was worth as trade in value, so in a sense I got my own back on them

Simple straight answer is no. customer service is shocking. I went down with a friend that had cash to buy and all he wanted was to have a look round a starlet(which turned out to be a heap anyway) and they faffed about with customers that came in AFTER us for about half the day completely ignoring us(he was 18 at the time). Anyway had a quick look round the cars and most of them looked dodgy at a glance, nevermind an inspection. I couldnt believe the poor quality. So anyway to sum it all up...after hours waiting in the freezing cold and being ignored, NO, I would not recommend!!! I should mention that we travelled from central scotland to look at car so they knew we were serious as my friend phoned in advance.

I remember phoning up about a subaru and before I could say is it still for sale they put the phone down.
Check out my "is kkeighly trade centre any gd" and you find an answer.
All the subarus there are ****e even the guy working there said you need at least £7k to get a good one. Try autotrader online. And just keep you eye out. You can get a good one for £3k-£4k.
serouslly dont buy off them.
I took my mum there and she was like "is there ment to be water in the boot". They must have been in a ditch or something there was water in the boots and by the battarys. There where no air filters on the cars and non of them started and THATS ONLY THE START!!!
I think the best way to buy a subaru is from a garage that its been px'd in and they want a quick sale because they dont sell sports cars. just keep an eye out on autotrader they usually pop up every month. Then go have a look and if you dont know dick get someone to help theres people on here that help.
You meet some right **** too, guys selling them, one i went to see had the check engine light on but the guy said its no problem, and another guy was puzzled i wanted to look under the bonnet, where i found a very werid noise.

Didn't they have a brand new S204 in there recently?
After reading so many bad comments on Knighley's on this board, I still wouldn't buy a brand new car off them.

Most of keighley is the pit of the world- go there and you'll see- you certainly don't want a car thats probably spent most of its time crusing the finer estates and mcdonalds of keighley with young girls in it and some wanna be bad boy gansta behind the wheel.

My mate bought a scoob from them, it was a silver 95 wrx with 102,000km on it.
It was low as **** but not on coilovers(?), but on the dual carriage way nearby it drove fine, boosted fine and didnt pull to one side so we assumed the suspension was kosher. It was pretty tidy on the outside except for the front n/s wing panel gap, and the interior was above average, with none of this one bucket drivers seat and gauges eveywhere malarkey most of the others had!
It was cheap (or so we thought) at 3900, and they gave him a grand for his **** box vw!
It came with about 600 quids worth of service and brake rebuild receipts too!
It got us home ok, with everything appearing normal. At home on closer inspection there was a small hole in the rad! (how we got home with no overheat ill never know), and the suspension consisted of cheap springs and no name shocks, and was -110mm!!!!
So we fixed the rad, got some new standard shocks and prodrive springs for it, and its never missed a beat since!
The sideskirts have been sprayed pretty ****, but other than that is ok!
The owner got a summons for speeding in bradford six months after trading in the vw, so they didnt register the trade in
Most of the scoobs in the 4 grand price range had roll cages, stupid gauges everywhere and one bucket drivers seat, but they seem to have the odd one thats ok though! imo!

The best importer in my opinion is AIS Imports. They supply Japanese Performance Magazine, and insurance companies with good cars. Also they have never put a foot wrong with me.
