Default Price to pay for a 2005 WRX?

Prices asked for Imprezas on autotrader/pistonheads vary so much with some early bugeye WRXs with highish miles up for the same price as a low mileage 2005 car in some cases.

What I want to know is real values of a good blob eye WRX, what price have people have actually got when selling a car or what are people are actually paying?

I'm interested in a 2005/54 WRX with under 20k miles. The asking price is less than other similar cars advertised but a whole grand more than glass's guide says it's worth. Any idea how much I should be paying?

Thanks in advance.

Pistonheads is a good reference.

2007 WRX's are going for £13k and the 2005 around £11-12k. There's a couple on there.

But there are so many at £9 to 10k. I don't know whether to be wary or snap one up. Glass's book price for a 2005 with low miles is £9.5k.

Maybe the market has collapsed and too many people are asking unrealistic prices of 11-12k.

There are bargains out there, it's a buyers market. Just see how many impreza's are for sale. The fuel prices alone are pushing people away from ownership.

If in doubt, take someone who knows what they're lOOking for. For starters a FSH is essential.

Pistonheads makes for a depressing read for subaru owners.

No mate, it's depressing read for Subaru sellers. Subtle but important difference. I couldn't give a **** what mine's worth until I (ever) sell it.

James you are going to get a deal, a steal, sale of the century

Anyone asking above book price with the current financial situation is dreaming. If they aren't willing to be sensible with there pricing walk away. There's always another car, or ten when it comes to subaru's......

I would say that glass's prices tend to be slightly optimistic (when buying) but this absolutely a buyers market so bargain hard. I'd start with an offer at least 10% below asking price as you've cash and are ready to deal.
Show them the folding, it always helps

You'll probably find pistonheads prices slightly higher than most as advertisers tend to be more into there cars and that leads to overpricing; or wishfull thinking as I like to call it

If you want assistance give me a shout,
monkey.

the two ads posted by Gaz are typical prices I've seen but there are also near identical cars out there for 9-9.5k. Part of the reason I've been looking for one for so long is that there are so many that I've walked away from anything less than perfect as there are loads more about.

Saw a wrx two weeks ago that was mica black/blue... except a wing and door that were solid black complete with drips and orange peel. Nice...

Thanks for all the advice, am seemingly permenantly scanning the internet for 'the one'. Cheers Madison Monkey, will no doubt be in touch asking more silly questions!

Lad at work is selling his 56 plate hawkeye wrx,had a power upgrade at zen to 345bhp and pfff replica 18" wheels been offered 11.5k for it which i think is cheap for the age and mods so the market does seem depressed.....

It amazes me that you can get that new of a car, with it's known performance for so little. A £10k loan over 5 years is only £250 p/m.

They're in reach of anyone. Amazing! Wander why there's not more being snapped up. (Apart from taxes and fuel costs )
