well the car dident pass, the emissions were very high
just got in touch with the company who mapped/set the ecu up
waiting to hear back from them
the other things it failed on was a blow bulb & a light spray of oil on a rear shocker.
i need basicly the car mapping via the esl daughter bourd
i may even get in touch with scooby world becouse it could even be the sports cat
well i guess thats that

It may well be the sports cat mate, when i had one on my old gt4 celica it failed, you need to warm them up before you go for the M.O.T, drive around for about 20 - 30mins and it should be fine, thats what i done anyway and it went through after that, should have just gone for the decat and just change it once a year!!!!!

Not got a standard ecu you could borrow to throw on for the mot?,thats what i did last year disconected the apexi, fitted the original ecu slapped the center cat back on and tootled off to the mot,ecu no longer suitable due to different turbo but fine for cruising down for the mot.... tested well within limits and then whipped the cat off and refited the apexi pfc, jobs a good un.

the sports cat was hot
but to how high the emissions were.
fast idletest, you should be no higher than 0.30% the car was 2.32%
second fast idle test, again 0.30% the car was 3.53%
& natural idle test, should be no more than 0.50% & the car was 3.77%
with a de-cat it shoulden't be that high. the chips wre mapped for the car, & i'm thinking of getting an apexi fc
that or i can not use the car again

theres no smoke at all
i just notices the fuel diden't go anywhere

the esl chip will rely on the lambda sensor to pass the emissions..
lambda probably dead..
Also you should get it remapped if you have changed pistons unless the dish gives the same compression etc..

i know the compresion is higher on the sti pistons.
but all the mods were told to esl, & the chips were set up
again, i'm not blamming esl at all
& still say the chips are great
i might just change the chip to the ones set up for the 380cc injectors & see if the emissions are better
i may also get a new lamber senser
but in respect of this, i do think i need a remap to how the car is. it could also be the fact i also have a front mount
if i go for the apexi, how much will i be looking t for mapping it with the cars set up?

Now this isn't really legal but what i do to save me having to put my cat back every year is i use a garage that's willing to use a different car on the emissions test(due to it all been computerised now they cant just pass it). Last year a mondeo past my test for me, obviously you need to find a garage that will bend the rules slightly.

its a good idea, but it must be doing some damage using the petrol
i know the engine was getting quite hot
if it was only just over slightly. then i woulden't be so bothered. but its miles over the limite

He had never heard of this so i took the car about a 6/7 mile dash put it straight back on to the MOT bay and he tested it again and it flew through. The guy at the MOT station could not believe it,and he said to me you learn somthing new every day.Give it go mate it might save you throwing more money at your car you have no need to.

If he's running Lambda one, the CO without a catalyst would be about 0.67%, not the 2 odd percent he has, at that rich the catalyst can't convert as their is no excess oxygen to oxidise the CO and HC....

no, it was before.
i think the mistake was, the map was done out of exsoearience & not a rolling road ect
its my foult really. i was told to
but he said he can get it about right,
so i took the chance. but with the pistons being different to standard wrx/uk pistons & the compresion being higher
this + the injectors should be done different on every car.
with all the answeres i get, its being over fuels.
+ with the plugs set to 0.6 it would still fire ok.
it makes sence to
i had to change the plugs becouse one was cracked. + they were quit black as if it was running on choke alot
i'm going to change the lambda, the next step is a live map as it will be the cheapest way at this point to get mapped
so i better get saving
