Question

The RB320's are ridiculously overpriced for me sorry, particularly over an EVO.

You've already had a white 07 STi,or so it would seem....dare I say even more exclusive?and easily upgraded to a similar spec for less money

To answer the initial Q:

Subaru advised me to keep it below 4k for the first 1,000 miles (first service).

Others followed this:
0 > 500 miles - limit to 3000rpm
500 > 750 - limit spurts up to 4000rpm with increasing spurts as you get to 750 miles
750 > 1000 - limit spurts up to 5000rpm with increasing spurts as you get to 950 miles
1000 - call your dealer to arrange service

Enjoy and get over to the Owners Club. The RB320 Owners Club :: Rally Hero Special Edition :: The Owners Club especially for the Subaru Impreza RB320 :: Richard Burns RIP

Thanks for all the info , and yes they are very expensive but for me i would be modding a new STI anyway that would end up costing the same where as i would rather have this straight off the shelf with everything done and a ltd ed. I have seen the Evo and Scooby side now and know i would never have a standard 2.5 Sti again, the RB320 reminded me on my 03 STI PPP but only a lot better :-)

@Elmer "You've already had a white 07 STi,or so it would seem"

i really did have a white sti 07 ...... why would i just make it up ?

If it were my money, which it obviously ain't, I'd be looking at an S204, Type RA-R or Type 25 at that price level.

S204 [worth it for the wheels alone]

Type RA-R

Type 25 [preferably in Spec C guise]

but the RB320 is still a nice car, just not as good as these (IMHO)

We recently worked on one. RCM headers and exhaust system and remap gave 350 bhp and 390 ft lbs easy as pie.

Sounds good, but isn't that also true of 2.5 Sti's with the same mods ?

Have you considered an import?

I also think the RB's are over priced for the spec. My money would go on something like the Spec C RA. Get ones for £22k. For £30k and RA-R would be on the menu.

Just depends on how hardcore/specialised you want your next drive.

Why sell the EVO?

I think it's more that people are asking "why an RB?"

For someone that might not be aware of better/other special imprezas, that knowledge might be useful before making a decision.

Maybe better responses over at: The RB320 Owners Club :: Rally Hero Special Edition :: The Owners Club especially for the Subaru Impreza RB320 :: Richard Burns RIP

Like any discussion, people will always introduce opinions and alternative suggestions. I've been on BBS's where everybody is just nicey-nicey all the time and congratulate everything anyone does and they're boring places to be. If I said I liked Stilton cheese I would be happy if someone then suggested I try Danish Blue. Nothing wrong with either, much like there's nothing wrong with an RB320, or an S204, T25 or RA-R, all valid options which other posters may not be aware whether the original poster is aware of or had considered. Please let's not see SNet reduced to 'I'm buying an RB320' followed by 'Nice', 'Good choice', 'Lovely' or it'll be like being on SIDC's forum. I much prefer reasoned suggestions, valid opinions and even justified arguments than boring back-slapping.

Does that mean he'd be better off with a Skoda ?
