Hi Guys
I'm not sure if this has been asked before (i had a search and could find a concluesive answer)
but what is the difference between the STi8 and the WR1 machanically
i have a STi8 with PPP so 300BHP compared to 320BHP of the WR1
its not the peak figures that impress me but the
4.25sec compared to 4.6sec to 60
and 10.5sec compared to 12.2sec to 100
now during my resarch i have conclueded that the gear box is the same and as far as i can tell so is the engine but what else is the same and what else is different?
Finally is it possble to get the WR1 map on my car or a WR1 ECU to fit my car?
alternativley are there any other tuners out there thet offer the same levels of performance and driveabilty?
sorry if the questions seam vauge i'm just trying to get all the info i can before deciding to tuning the car or not

Performance figures for the WR1 has was a talkin point when it was first released as it is essentially a STI with PPP. As far as i knw no one has been able to replicate the figures quoted by subaru for the WR1.
So my answer would be no difference besides the colour, wheels, mesh grille, fog lights and springs

got my figures from searching on the net.
a lot of sites state the same figures.
appriecate web pages aren't always the most accuarte source of information hence asking on here. interesting to know tho that a WR1 may not be much faster than my car.
I have also got the prodrive handling pack fitted so at this moment in time i'm beign to think that there is no difference between my car and a WR1 if the quoted figures can't be proved
cheers for the info guys

For more real world stuff evo got 5.2/12.9 for the sti ppp and 5.3/13.1 for the WR1. I'd prob get 6/16 for mine

If you want more bhp,go have it mapped for about £500 and get roughly 350 bhp........
(your sti ppp prob wont be running the figures quoted any way, look at what daz.j's rolling road figures were)
