WOO HOO New Scooby !!!!
Hi All,
I am now the proud (Very Proud) Owner of 2003 (53) Version 7 STI (Stock-no Mods -YET!!!! ). OMG am I having fun, can't remember the last time I smiled so much .
I drove up form Chester with my new scooby and I could not believe the number of people who were leering at my babe........ made me smile even more .
I was quite surprised at the fuel consumption I got as I had heard obviously that the Scooby was a drinker, I got 170 Miles on half a tank, I think that’s pretty good.........????
Another thing that you guys might be able to answer, I am not boosting until about 3500 revs and I have been told that it should be sooner??
Anyway, a big hi to the scooby community im sure I will talk to and even meet some of you in the years to come.
Rob

Welcome fella! You didnt happen to buy that silver sti from graham walker did you? Im putting 2 + 2 together...maybe coming up with 7?! If it is, it looked like a beast! The turbo spool maybe different on the sti's ie bigger turbo but may take a fraction longer to wind up then away she goes!!! I may be wrong who knows! Enjoy

Does anyone know if the wrx 1994 comes with a cone air filter as standard or how someone modded it.

Hint: half a tank on the gauge is not = half a tank
Fill to the brim, note mileage. Do about 200 miles. Fill to the brim again, note mileage and fuel quantity. Do calculation. Stop smiling.

I don't know what to say guys, except I did NOT boost at all. It was all motorway driving and I never went above 75.
Even filled to the brim are you saying that I have about 55 miles from brim to top line...... dont think so!
I have no illusion about my fuel consumption round town but hey ho.
ps.
I wasn't smiling at the fuel consumption, it was the scooby!!!

Now you are confusing me - you mean you picked up a scoob for the first time and drove it all the time off boost . Blimey, if you had a smile on your face off-boost you are likely to pee your tangos when you nail the loud pedal for the first time .
As to miles per tank - off boost - you probably will get over 300/tank - just look up the stats for a 2.0l mondeo!

Hi there, fellow newbie The fuel consumption on my slightly modded 05 STi is about 175 miles to a tank, that's a mixture of B road blasting and driving with the wife in the car !! Definately agree with the 150/50 split. Weird.

ROFLMAO...... buy the wife another car.!!!
I have founs that about 50 miiles to the quauter tank seems to be the average. Once I feel comfortable enough I am sure that will be reduced to about 10mile to the quater ;-).
But fellow newbies........... dont you think to yourself, how the hell did you manage without looking out the window at your baby in the the driveway.
im defo smitten with ma scoobie .

Glad you like your new car. I might see you as i work in Edinburgh. Listen out for an earthquake, followed by a black flash. That's me.
When mine was standard it felt like it didn't boost until about 4k, maybe more. A remap and a few components brought that about 1k lower.
(Also increased the MPG). At stage 1 (320bhp) it was getting 25 miles more per tank. About 250. (VPower).

I'll watch for that black flash lol
I will obviously be modding my baby but all good things and all that. Gonna be getting her on the rolllin road for a complete check up first, see what needs done if anything then take it from there.
I will let you guys know the outcome when its complete. Booked in for a week on Saturday!
Well am now gonna go back to the window and gaze at her all covered in snow........ its blastin down here

Most common is the rear struts (shock absorbers) if you start to hear a knocking sound from the rear of the car (more noticeable at low speeds) then they need replacing, and they ain't cheep. oh forgot to say welcome to the wonderful world of subaru ownership enjoy the ride mate.

Radiator may leak around the top.
Consumables, tyres, pads and disks may have short lives.
Batteries go flat.
Boot full of water if spoiler changed.
Front wheel arch liners flimsy.
Number plate lights don't last five minutes.
CEL on because of faulty neutral position switch.

55 miles till it crash dives for zero, 225 miles to 1/4 left is good for me, then fill her up as I don't like running it too low....
Sports cat and a re-map will give around 330 bhp
You know you want to !
Welcome and enjoy the car !
