Hi guys, I am interested in buying a 2004 sti, the only thing that is putting me off at the moment is the car has been imported from Denmark or Holland but is full UK spec exactly like my previous sti type uk I had. Is there any reason why I shouldn't buy it and finally should it be slightly cheaper than a similar uk model (non import). Is this a European import??

Parallel import. For insurance purposes identical to UK car. Presumably no warranty now so no issues.

Price wise I would have thought it would have been affected .... even if there is no difference that certainly is the case with 06-07 stis in fact 1500-2k cheaper although I'm not sure on the 05s. Generally (especially in a buyers market) UK models are prefered.

Also as far as spec goes again the 06s come with tracker and cat 1 alarm in the uk not in europe don't know about the 05s though.

06-07 will still carry some manufacturer's warranty, which is perceived as easier to get work done if a UK car, therefore adds value. The OP talks about an MY04 with no such advantage.

You are correct about alarms, trackers, but the same goes for any extras. The price reflcts the car and the extras, damage, etc. Whether such items were fitted as new does not matter.

Don't be put off that's it an import. Plenty around. No issues that would differ it from a UK car.

Check if the shocks have been replaced though.
