My God that's quick! Somebody knocked all the run off areas at that track too, lots of hardware to hit!

How does the lap time compare with the ones recently on YouTube with the jap racers?

Awesome car and driving, although he takes some weird lines through the corners. I thought most of the turns at Tsukuba were late apexes?

Not sure what Jap racers you are referring to exactly, but at the event, which was the 18th Annual RevSpeed Tsukuba Super Battle, with cars such as Zero Sports Subaru (57.737s with Tarzan Yamada driving), MSpeed GTR (54.481s) and Panspeed RX7 (55.673s), we finished 11th out of 64 cars - highest placed non-Jap team. Anything under 1 minute is considered very fast. You can see the full timesheet here:

http://www.timeattack.co.uk/download...%20results.JPG

As for the lines, well I am absoluely no racing driver but our team discussed lines at length with Tarzan Yamada in the bar at the beginning of the week and our driver chatted to him extensively at the track, so he certainly had the best info. But generally, we leave the driving to Phil! On the lap featured, the tyres were still cool so there is a bit of wandering off slightly from the ideal. With more track time, Phil would have beaten the Zero Sports time for sure

Nice vid, track looks tricky and fast. I need to update my motoring vid collection, so far the stuff coming out of Japan (and the US) is all about drifiting.. need more time attack and touge runs!

Awesome time, awesome achievement, fantastic spec of car... a credit to all involved... what a shame Phil didn't get more track time to show exactly what he and the car could have achieved!!!

Haha! No, the lines are a pain. The hairpins have an ideal approach in the middle of the track, with a double apex and good clean exit. This is paticularly try in the second hairpin after the wiggles, if you take the wide line in, you're in the gravel.

Anyone else think Tarzan Yamada is the coolest name in history?

Or is it just me

I just meant there was a few battles/vs video clips posted of this circuit. Even ones with F40, F355, Spec C, New STi etc.

Just wandered how your monster went against those.

When the new Impreza and Evo were tested at Tsukuba:
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X : 1:06:46
Subaru Impreza WRX STI : 1:05:95

I Googled and found some 'Best Motoring' vids, which might be what you refer to...

Best Motoring Time Attack Tsukuba circuit:
Impreza WRX STi spec C 1'06"6
Lancer Evolution IX RS 1'05"528

Nismo R34GT - RS- Tune 1'06"232

Lamborghini Gallardo 1'03"605

NSX -R NA1 1'06"120

NSX -R NA2 1'05"596

Goes to show how amazing Time Attack cars are. Ours for example, in 2005 (at a lower spec) was tested by Redline magazine...

0-60mph in 2.64s
0-100mph in 5.65s

Veyron:
0-60 in 2.5s
0-100 in 5.5s

McLaren F1:
0-60 in 3.2
0-100 in 6.3s

Ferrari Enzo:
0-60 in 3.1s
0-100 in 6.7s

Our 2008 car should top the Veyron! Hopefully we will get the opportunity to record this data again this year.

Aye, that's what i was on about. And it does just prove how fast your car is.

Holy ****, nearly as fast as a Veyron too.

Sounds pretty difficult. I've never actually driven the track, only played it on the xbox, so I wouldn't really know.
