A few questions first:
1. How old are you?
2. Any convictions in the past 5 years?
3. As above any accidents
4. Previous car's (owned other performance cars)?
The above determines what kind of insurance quote you will get, then things like if the car is a UK car (a Turbo 2000 is), alarm system (thatcham approved) and tracker (optional but helps reduce the cost) etc.
I have a thatchem approved steering lock, gear lock and Clifford alarm which reduces my premium a fair bit. I am getting some bollards fitted on my drive way to stop anyone trying to drive out (and more importantly to stop the annoying ***** who decide to park in my bloody driveway). Not all insurance providers cover the bollards so have to ask.
I am going to assume your around the mid to late 20's so something like a nice V reg Turbo 2000 should be good on insurance through someone like Kieth Michaels (my current insruance company, top people) or A-Plan could be anything from £700 to £1500 or more, really depends on your insurance/driving history.

go on something like Cheap UK Car insurance and home insurance quotes comparison from Confused.com. and run some quotes , register and it's very quick . enter your main details, age, address, length of time owned licence etc etc and you dont have to enter that lot again, just change the car and add/subtract a few things . . . alot depends on mileage covered per year , value of car etc
if it's a classic your after then the UK should be cheaper but in saying that there's alot of import specialist that could beat UK quotes.

I'd guess any UK turbo (like for like) car will be cheaper with all the cheaper insuarance companies.
When were they officially imported to the UK?
1996?
WRX's & STi's will be more expensive.

No such thing as a cheap one to insure mate. Minimum Grp 17 insurance for the classic 19, and 20 for the new ages. Imports usually a bit more.
If you're under 21, or under 25 without a good NCB, expect to have your trousers taken down, be bent over the desk and then subjected to cruel and unusual punishment! i.e. it will be thousands!

BTW is isn't this the second time you've posted this question?

'kinell!
what's with the deletion of posts with no explanation!!!!!!!!
Right, I'm sure this post will be deleted for some reason too (although I was merely stating similar posts to the guys with high post counts
)
Yep a UK Turbo 2000 is the most likely to be cheaper for insurance.
Gonna have to answer some q's and give a bit more info before anyone will be able to help further though...

Edited to say: I have now been informed that the posts would not have been deleted for writing my opinion. Please view the above as just a cheeky remark meant with humour. Thank you!
