Default where can i get a cheap re-map done?

im in middx, want a re-map for my 05 wrx, just cant bring myself to pay the £550 a lot of people seem to be asking round my way.

Anyone know of any reasonable priced re-maps out there for my pride and joy?

can i ask, why buy a performance car that aint cheap to run, then moan about remap prices.

sorry to sound harsh, but its like buying one of those cheap nasty "resistor chips" things off ebay for £7 when they "instantly increase power and performance by 25%"

you get what you pay for with these cars. scrimp and you will pay for it later dear boy.

nice car b.t.w.

Most of the money you pay is a one-off cost for the license for the new ECU chip. Any additional remaps don't incurr that cost.

I would think long and hard before getting a 'cheap' remap for your car unless you want the engine to go pop.

Mocom Racing were doing them for 400 quid I believe, but they are based in Essex.
I agree with the comments though. On my last few car's there were no option for re-maps, it had to be a whole new standalone engine managment system for 1000+. So I think it seems pretty cheap in comparison.

Agree with the above, I had a CTR before MY07 STi and you needed to buy a Kpro for that which if you wanted to keep your standard ECU and buy a Kpro'd ECU seperate you would be looking at paying near £1k, so £500 odd quid is a bargain in comparison, plus you get great gains for a simple remap on these cars, the Kpro on the CTR didn't really give you that much in comparison to what it cost.

Pay Mocom, Powerstation, Bob Rawle, Andy F what they charge and be safe in the knowledge that you have got a great car that has had a professional mapper do the business on your pride and joy.

Quite a few people doing cheap remaps, using open source software.

Personally i would only use a well recommended mapper from this board and the pay the extra, knowing that your car will not go pop.

£300 saving on map vs (possible) £3000 engine build.
