Default 1995 WRX De-Cat Help

Hi guys i have a 1995 WRX Import. I am looking to gain a few extra horses. I have bought a Green replacement filter and am thinking of De-cat.

However, i have been told different advise and would like to clarify!

I was told by one person that i can only replace my centre cat because if i change my down pipe Cat i will have to re-map it. However, i spoke to somebody at Scooby World who told me that this only applies to later models?

I am unsure weather to buy a centre de-cat pipe and a down pipe de-cat because i will fail MOT´s. At Scooby World they have a Ninja performance down pipe which they claim is almost as good as a de-cat but will still pass MOT.

I would appreciate any advice on this subject and any suggestions for the best place to buy de-cats.

Also has anybody de-cated a 1995 Imported WRX and did it make a noticable difference.

Any other suggestions for power SAFE power gains would also be appreciated.

Thanks

Stratts

Scoobyworld is correct. Classic shape imprezas respond extremely well to a decat (downpipe) and do not require a remap, although one would release a few more ponys!

Do it, you know you want to!

Thanks Chris.

I think your right i do want to!!!!

Would you go for full de-cat, down pipe and centre, or maybe the ninja sports cat so it will pass MOT?

some subaru specialists can change the centre section back to cat, for MOT (allegedly) but thats a conversation you need to have with them

I'm pretty sure you've only got 1 cat in the downpipe and the center bulge is just a resonator.
If your worried go for the sports cat to be safe.
Quicker spool is the first thing you notice after having the decat fitted.
