subaru sti type r / ra ltd ecu 97-00 on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 08-Feb-08 20:41:18 GMT)

What apart from the fact the ECU changed at 99MY, so 97 and 98 are totally different from 99 on you mean?

Am i right that 93-96 1st ecu type, 97-98 2nd type and 99-00 3rd type for classics?

precisely.

Just sent a polite email to the guy yesterday. He replies with:

This ecu is off a Subaru Impreza STI TYPE R V Ltd 1999 Model. This ECU WILL ALSO FIT 1997 - 2000 Models

I said that that was impossible and that it wouldn't work.

He replied with:

'it will and it has'.

What a muppet!

how can a standard car run 309bhp? wont it have been mapped to hit that at least? lol

Nope, an sti can quite easily run that without one.
