hoky coky, try gary moulson at keith micheals, his numbers on here and should be able to save you some.

lost count of how many people have come on here saying i bought a scoob and can't find insurance thats reasonable, hence mentioning it.

um, wouldn't count on half price, but should think he can save you something.

for the money your looking at you should be able to get a later classic sti, in decent condition

Ooooooooh, don't start that one.

Most people will defend their era subaru to the end.

I doubt you'll get a bug STi for £7k. Check out pistonheads. But then again, would you want a bug.

That money would be on a built classic, or standard-ish Type R. Maybe the built one.

Seeing as you'll want the best you can possibly get for your cash, get a classic. You'll be able to get a mint one for 7k.

Russ .... sorry Big Dog ... .. get a newage ie bug eye because at least then you'll get used to that and working on mine for me should be at least partly similar !!!

KM was **** loads cheaper for me, and about 100 less than A Plan.

Can't believe you bacame a convert in a day but it'll be nice to have someone else to have scooby geek conversations with.

hello mate
hope you join the club whatever model you go for
if i had seven grand and didnt want to pay over the odds for insurance stick with british cars and i would only buy a very tidy classic with full service and obvious signs of t l c
out of the british models i would go for the rb (richard burns) edition
it is a very capable impreza
limited numbers
cheeper parts of classics etc
and voted by the unbiast as best impreza overall
hope thats some help if you do go for one of these it could be hard to find
good hunting

I personally wouldnt recommend a Type R to ( no offence ) a scooby novice.
They are a brilliant car, but can be very unpredictable and unforgiving if you treat it like a normal 4 wheel drive car.
Stick to the normal 4 door scoobys.

Pants will try and talk him outta that one, as it will be Pants trying to play catch up.

Herbie, you've spent too much time polishing that engine bay.

You'll probably need about 440/450 to keep up with that.

Great excuse for an upgrade.
