Default trackday brakes for 16inch wheels....

Hi all,

I need to get some new brakes for the scoob as i plan on doing quite alot of trackdays. The trouble im having is finding a decent brake kit that will cope all day long with all out trackday abuse that fits under 16 inch wheels.

Are there any kits out there that will suit my needs or am I going to have to change my wheels?

I *really* dont want to change the wheels I have but the brakes do need doing fairly shortly

Any advice, web links or offers grately accepted

You wont get a 315mm disc under a 15" wheel , the largest I have fitted is a 308mm one.
What year 16" wheels do you have , if you have MY98 onwards wheels , then the 308mm kits with AP or Brembo 4 pot calipers I make will fit , along with the right pad these will cope with any abuse you want to throw at them.

Cheers Ian

What wheels were these fitted under , as I have a Gp N impreza type R with 15" OZ , Speedline and compomotive motorsport wheels and a 315mm disc wont fit under them with AP or Brembo 4 pots.

BTW I am talking about proper calipers , not some of the calipers on the market that they make so small and thin to get them in small gaps behind wheels that they end up flexing like hell and not clamping on the discs as they should do.

Acid , I haven't tried any kits under that wheel , I do have a similar wheel in my spares kit for my rally car for tarmac use , I have the standard Subaru 4 pots on mine , and to fit this wheel I need to run a spacer , when I got a bit of time i'll mock up a kit on a hub on the bench and try these wheels on to see if they fit , can you email me some pics if your wheels and i'll check they are the same as the ones I have

Cheers Ian

dont go through the bother of mocking things up for me Ian, i wasnt looking to buy anything just yet (will be needing brake disks in the summer though for my 4 pot AP`s) i have somebody looking to buy the safari speedlines off of me and they were asking if it was a possibility that a set of four pots could be fitted under them

I have a 1998 turbo 2000 and the wheels are rays volk racing te37's (i think 16 x 7jj but will confirm when i can get to the car after work)

if i had to swap my wheels i would want the same ones again as i think they suit the car well and weigh the best part of bugger all each!

Does anyone have any 17 inch bronze te37's on the off chance???

Acid , to fit the standard subaru 4 pots and discs under those wheels , you need a wheel spacer of about 10mm
