might be worth you trying to dig up some of the history of the car. As I understand, although I may be wrong, it was only the uk sti 8`s that had the vf35 so there is something not right there. is it a special edition? is it a wrx type ra or definitely an sti 8?

Engine numbers don't appear for jdm cars on our uk logbooks. What part of manc are you in ? bob it over tomorrow and i'll have a look at it. Sounds like a JDM to me.

My Uk STI 8 had a VF34 it was an 03 plate.

On that note my mates UK STI 7 has a VF35

As far as i can remember the VF35 stopped with the bug eye. I remember looking into this when i bought the car.

I would get the car checked as it may not be set up correctly for the turbo your running (if someone before you swapped it)

Maybe the previous owner didn't like the sound of the twin scroll/equal length set up and swapped it for the more usual scooby sound?

If its still got the JDM engine in then chances are the inlet manifold has a blanking plug arrowed here:

If there is a hose coming from here then I'll bet its had a UK engine added as well.

As for VF34/35, I think someone has got them a little muddled up...

Hi, I live in Japan, have the same JDM STi and I also have the Subaru parts CD, with p/numbers and diagrams. If you let me know the VIN number, should be GDB-xxxxxx, I can check the CD and tell you exactly what your car should have.
CD covers all up to 2006 I think.

Also I assume you have got the v5 etc for it?

sounds like either stolen recovered and someone`s nicked the engine, or just stolen
