Exhaust smokes
Since i have owned my 1999 Version type-R (Standard)
It has smoked on start up, I put it down to valve stem seals.
It does burn oil as most of these cars do.
However it had stoped smoking for a few months, so i thn thought i had maybe been over filling it, i have recently fitted an oil catch tank, which i thought if i did ever over fill it, it would stop it from smoking.
Anyway, it has started smoking again.
I have noticed, when i do normal driving which is...
Start up, and drive off boost untill the oil reaches 80 deg, i will then give it a blast down the motorway/dual carage way, (No prologed times of boost obviously) spool down while driving, to get oil temp down to normal about 85-90 deg thn prob idle for 30 sec's - 1 minuite.
Start the car up werther after a whole week, or 1 night or even an hour or so, there will be no smoke.
But what i did notice, if i give the car a good thrashing (Obviously after warming it up, and thn cooling down again after, the same way) it will smoke on start up werther its been a night or an hour, now this will keep happening, even if i havent thrashed the car, just done short journeys where i cant really use much boost.
Why is this?? i 1st notivced this at santa pod last year, thrash it down the strip, cool down abit, engine off, wait start back up and smoke, thrash down the strip, cool down, engine off, start up + smoke etc etc
I do try not to over fill, it is gard to tell on the dipstick, but i keep the oil between empty and full
BTW i do not loose any water at all.
Please help
