Now got a Forester, with a couple of little "improvements."

I can get my work gear in it during the week & at the Weekends, get both my Hounds in and sod off to where I feel like, with a bit of a laugh along the way.

On the non Turbo Scoob I fitted SpiralMax(r) Fuel Economy - Horsepower - Supercharge - Turbo - Air Management - Gas - Diesel - Torque - Propane

and a sports exhaust, and a cotton green panel filter, made a difference to the poke, no doubt about it.

Got slagged off here, (as you do from time to time) noticed that you get most improvements with the Spiral Max on NON TURBOS.

In fact since I got a Turbo, threw them awy.

Good luck.

Regards

Just click on the UNDERLINED Spiral Max on my PREVIOUS post.

You can stick 2 in your exhaust, 1 in your Air Filter & 1 in your injector Hose.

Have a look at the Ferrari & you'll get it.

Any problems PM me.

You can get 4 for around £80 plus postage from the States.

Good luck.

Regards

Sorry????

4 units why, if i recall its one unit in your air intake, after the maf.

how would putting one in your exhaust, make any difference?? or in your fuel line, given that its an injection car, which takes fuel and injects it under pressure (from the fuel pump) into the injectors which atomise the fuel.

They also dont work on any turbo car.

Mart, you put 1 in BEFORE your Air Filter, 1 in the Hose that goes into your Injectors, 2 in your exhausts.

We all know that the more air you can get through, the quicker the motor, right?

These fins, do not move, however, they spin the air thousands of times, and when it goes to the various places, the air is moving at a hell of a rate.

A bit like a Dyson Vacuum Cleaner really.

In the Exhaust, (Back Box) it gets the air that started before your Air Filter, right the way through your system, out quicker.

Look on the Site & it's self explanatory.

As I said, to the Guy who asked about non Turbos, it really works ON A NON TURBO, thats what he has.

It worked for me in my first NON TURBO.

Alan, sorry to be a killjoy. but

if you look at a scoob airbox, the maf sits righton the airbox, immidualty after the airfilter, no room to put one there.

So it must go after the airbox.

Air hoses do not go to the injectors, there high pressure petrol hoses, which do not contain any air, only petrol under pressure.

When the petrol arrives at the injector, it is forced under pressure through an atomising nozzle whereby it is injected into the engine ( thats why there called injectors)

The only air coming into the cylinder is via the intake, this air can be made turbulent by way of this device. The air is allready turbulant from its route into the car normally.

As for putting one in the exhaust, thats an absolute myth. the exhaust expels the air from the engine by way combustion pressures, a spinner or turbulence device would have sod all effect. Exhaust gasses are blown from the engine not sucked. (Hence the 4 stroke cycle Suck squeeze bang blow)

It could possibly give gains by all wing more of the fuel to burn in the combustion chamber.

However, ask yourself the following question.

If this device is so simple and so cheap, why aren't the mainstream manufacturers, fitting them as an oem production item?

BTW what model scoob do you own, have you got them fitted to yours?

dont knock something until youve tryed it is what I say.

remember them turbonators everyone laffs at aswell ? they actually work too. and theres a free moddin site that shows you how to make your own Supercharger step by step with a simple heavy duty fan and a switch that your t-body hits to activate.

anyway since we r on subject of sportwagons does a std twinpipe backbox off a 95 WRX import saloon fit a T reg sport wagon ...thanks

Hi Mart,

I was very doubtful when someone at work went on about it.

He lent me 1 which I put in my exhaust, and there was no doubt about it, went much quicker more torque etc.

At that time I had a 2litre NON Turbo Sport.

Where the MAF Sensor you are talking about is on a Turbo.

The NON Turbo, you put it in the hose before the Air Filter which is roughy in the Engine Bay where your Intercooler is on a Turbo.

You then put one on the Hose that comes out the other end of the Air Filter.

If you have a look on the Site, look at Exhausts etc you can see where to position them. Spiral MaX have been around a long time.

SpiralMax(r) Fuel Economy - Horsepower - Supercharge - Turbo - Air Management - Gas - Diesel - Torque - Propane

As I said, at the time on here, I took a lot of stick about it .

All I can say is,I have used them & there is no doubt about it, IT DEFINITELY WORKS ON A NON TURBO.

The Scoob I have at the moment is a Forester running at just over 305.

Sportwagon Roy,

It's as Bigbez says, don't knock it till you try it.

As said, I was very cynical when I was told by a bloke at work, he lent me 1 stuck it in the exhaust, great.

The only thing I would say is, self tap a screw into it, I blew one off!

Whatever you decide to do, best of luck.

Regards

Evening Sportswaggon Roy.

Save yer money, just buy 2 and ensure your happy with them, they are arond $39 each @ the moment. (Then get another 2 if you are happy with them)

Stick 1 in yer exhaust & go for a run.

You will notice a difference.

Then put the other in the Hose that comes out of yer Air Box.

All you have to do is measure the diameter of the inside of the hose/exhaust.

Any installation probs PM me & I'd be delighted to help.

Along with a Green Cotton Filter & Decatted Exhaust system, you'll definitely get more torque/grunt etc.

Whatever you decide to do, Best Of Luck.

If you look at illustration D, it is fitted after! the maf, but before the throttle body.

personally, i wouldn't fit one of those, all it would take is one of the vanes to break off, and you'd be looking at a very expensive rebuild

A better alternative, would be to look at an electric supercharger.
