Default Jap Import or Uk Spec

Last question...

How much more should i be expecting to pay for a Jap import STI? I assume this is known as JDM spec??

Also is there a major power difference between the two...?

I am looking at a year 2003...

JDM is always better buts that for out of the box modded !! once you go past that point I would save your cash and buy a UK model and mod hard

If you drive a 03 STi JDM an 03 STi UK they are Like Chalk and cheese

Standard JDM suspension can be slightly too hard but otherwise JDM is Streets ahead. better engine, 8,200 RPM, HID's, DCCD, TMIC spray, Wash wipe (possibly twin scroll turbo 03 or 04??)

IMHO, IIRC

I drive a highly modified JDM car but I serioursly dont think i would be able to tell the difference between a jap or uk once highly modded, apart from what has been mentioned and the hard ride

True but all depends on how much he's willing to spend modding and what he's wants to achieve.

IMHO with minor mods and mods up to £3-4k the JDM would be a better base car to start with.

or how much you want to spend to get the UK car to the same starting place as the JDM (DCCD and HID's, Wash wipe, stronger engine internals) or cure the JDM's harsh ride with some springs £400

IIRC

Sorry I thought 03 JDM's were cheaper than 03 UK's, and I only saw JDM so unsure if yours was Newage or Classic.
