Ok so recently sold my scoob and looking for something different/new.
Was fairly set on a Nissan 350z but I took a look at an imported one on Saturday and I really didnt like it as much as I thought I would. I love the shape but the seats felt too small the interoir was very dull, I need to look at a UK spec one as well just to rule them out but I need to consider what else to look at. I would welcome you suggestions.
Budget is 12-14k. Would like a keep a fair bit of power under my right foot so something with around 300hp would be nice or could go less with a light kerb weight so still with a bit of kick. Would like it to be under 6 years old if I can help.
Have been thinking of....
Honda S2000
BMW Z4
BMW M3
Mazda RX-8
Vauxhall VX220
Lotus Elise
then I ran out of ideas.

I'm selling my Impreza in the next few weeks, will be getting another Elise. You'll find it difficult to get one with 300bhp for around 12k
I'll be after an s1 111 for around the £9k mark. 0-60 if that's your bag would be just over 5 seconds and max speed 135, you'll average mid 30 mpg, up to 49 on a run on normal unleaded petrol.

TBH I would avoid the M3 unless you own a petrol station I am having to get rid of mine because the fuel bills are astronomical.
If you think a Scooby has a bad drink problem of the M3 is a combination of Oliver Reid and George Best having a big night out

s2000s are cracking cars with good performance and MPG. I don't know why you didn't like the 350z, i've been driving one for the last 2 weeks and I can't fault it, plenty of power and the interior is very nice too, although 24 mpg isn't the best, and as said about the M3, you'll need your own petrol station or tanker. Just out of curiosity, what year was the one you looked at?

I'll post what I always post in response to this question:
BMW : Mint Z3M Roadster
Same engine as an M3, just in a RWD roadster body. Supposed to be a huge amount of fun to drive.
If you can afford a little more, it's also worth checking the Z3M Coupe, which is (IIRC) slightly faster and better at handling than the Roadster (and, imo, better looking).
