Just had a conversation with what is now an old friend lol as they think my car is a chav car! its impossible to explain to someone who isnt interested in cars the difference between a chav car and a performance car. My car does stand out due to its colour but to call it chav lol. anyone else had this annoying conversation before?

 

i think they get this reputation because of all the idiots who smother them with stickers and lexarse lights..

 

I see what you mean but i have to say iv never seen a chav drive one as ther doll money doesnt cover the running costs. "Lexarse lights" lol

 

 

the stickers thing leaves me a bit cold - rally rep look-alike maybe but for me unless you are paid to advertise the companies then it just not for me

then again i am just thw wrong side of 40, maybe if 20 again then i would be there

I wud class i chav car as something like a Nova with chrome wing mirrors, a stupid body kit and a cannon for an exhaust with real load music cruising through a high street. scoobys look awesome but i guess everyone is entitled to their own opinions

 

Personally to term a car a "Chav car" its the way it looks to me rather than the vehicle itself.

A very clean tidy looking Nova with nothing horrible glued on and perhaps a 16V with bike carbs isn't what I term "Chav"

An Impreza with a horrible (to me) looking bodykit, lexus lights and poorly chosen wheels would to me look like a Chav car.

 

One of my mums friends said mine was chavvy when i was round there one day i then asked her where she was getting spare parts now for her rover 400 conversation over and evils from my mum

 

I see what you mean by changin the car from its orginal looks but most of us change the alloys at least or upgrade to a different spoiler, i wouldnt term that as chav. The impreza you shown however i wud say is lol its on my watch list apparently its owned by a 17 yr old who "borrowed" his dads credit card to buy it...interesting!

 

Anything thats Group 20 insurance is usually naturally excluded from the ownership of chavs I'd have thought.

But I've had a similar conversation with someone before.

I think alot of younger people male and female have got ther hands on the older (classic) subarus and thats were all the chav name calling stems from!

Then they add stupid lights,fog light covers with sti on them and silly bits of body kits and think they are part of swrt lol

 

typed chav car into google and this is one of the first things that came up

 

I'v had this before, a mte of mine at work always says it or that it is a boy racers car cos he knows I bite, LOL I know he is only messing though ! or heads would roll !!!!!

 

This was on the 2nd page It makes me angry !!

i get called a chav from time to time but on the same side of the coin i get complete strangers telling me that they love my car.

I couldn't really careless what people think of my car. I LOVE IT and thats all the matters.

i share the same view as your self regarding impreza's i.e not chavvy but i don't get offended or annoyed if someone else thinks my car is chavvy. Its their opinion and they are fully entitled to it

someone taking a dislike to your car is hardly a reason to get annoyed IMO.
