08 HATCH TYPE 25 and the NEW NISSAN SKYLINE
Popped into Litchco's Today after coming back from Brands Hatch trackday. I wanted to dicuss the 08 Hatch T25. My initial Plan was to go for the UK STi with rumours of the 400bhp PPP but sadly rumours seem to be unfounded.
Apparently he is going to use his Skyline to set a bench mark for the New STi Type 25 to beat. I know the out going T25 Cossy was quick but if the new T25 gets anywhere near it
The Skyline GT-R is Iain's own personal Car, Lucky ******* and is not sale I have driven most of his "Stock" cars but sadly not this one, probably due to fact it his own Car and not a stock vechile.
Iain took me up the road in it it was breath takingly AWESOME The DSG Gearbox is amazing in Auto it changed from 1st-6th and never felt it. Manual is instant and smooth. The Power is just what you would expect, it seems to handle a bit like a well sorted scoob if you know what i mean but obviously much better.
He had it a bit sideways on quite a few occasions mainly on the lower speed corners due to a greasy road, It didn't get any dif noises or Wheel Tramp like my Scoob though, so smooth. it a big car and weighs 1800kgs but never felt that heavy
We were grining like two cheshire cats when we called into the Petrol station. Iain bought some Petrol and I bought 3 Lotto lucky dips I'm not sure when or how much it will be when it arrives in the UK, roughly 8-12months and £60k
The new 25 will be utterly awesome if it can live with the GT-R

Sounds good Tony. I've decided to hold onto my MY07 STi now as the play toy. However I have my eyes firmly set on the GTR when it comes out. In saying that the new RS5 is supposed to be along the lines of the existing RS4 so hopefully it will get the V10 . So might go back to an Audi.

Autocar borrowed Ians car to test it against a GT3 RS and the new E92 M3 and it absolutely trounced them. The video is on Autocars website its in 2 parts. I urge everyone to go and watch it, as the tester said it defies the laws of physics. Awesome car, I cant see the Type 25 getting anywhere near it on a track.

Oh mama
The GT-R is top of my wanted list.
On a seperate note i popped into the local subaru dealer today and got up close to the 08 STI for the first time.
For a while i though it was growing on me but was really disapointed with it in the flesh. The car was wr blue and i have a feeling silver would be better but it just looked wrong

£2000 for a set of shoes would need to tippy toe around then
I guess if you wanted the original RE07Rs then you'd have to get them from Japan. It will be interesting to see what the UK Model comes with.
A bit like the STi Type UK, I could never understand how Subaru UK can supply the car with RE70s which you can't get ff the shelf in the UK

I've been toying with the idea of a Type RA R and chopping in my STI PPP. However I've decided to get a GT R V spec for my 40th in two years time. Better get saving. A real super car for Japanese car lovers who couldn't bring themselves to buy a Porsche.

Mac,
I know
I don't think so cos After the test drive , I bought a Lucky dip while Iain was paying for the GT-R's Petrol, I asked him if i win I want one, he more or less said, he has none for sale and his it's NOT and WON'T be for sale now or in the near future. so will have to wait till spring 2009 from a Dealer.
forgot I didn't win so no deposit
Believe it or not that is a thick Red film on original liqhts and certainly looks much better. Hard to notice until very close inspection

I guess you could always heat the original light units up, pull apart and paint them from inside with something more permanent! Maybe the old stained glass window red (like I use on the reverse light to fog light conversion)
I actually had the new GTR in mind when I did the lottery last night (for the first time in a while) But I see they picked the wrong fookin numbers again

Why are the tail pipes at different heights though? Looks a bit strange... great *** all the same i guess!
Love those lights!

I believe that nissan have said that they will sue import agents, the reason is that they are protecting the investment made by nissan dealers in setting up to maintain this high tech motor.

Car Planet are advertising new GTR's for £52,995 on their site. Nothing stopping people bringing a car in on a personal import either, Nissan just don't want dealers making a profit.

Other than the fact that they might not like other companies bringing the car into the UK, and might be uncooperative when it comes to spares and servicing, I don't see what Nissan can actually do.
(I do know that EU law is completely broken in this respect with regard to some items, but given the number of import cars that a) exist, and b) UK dealerships whinge about, I can't believe it's that simple)
