Default rear wiper

This may be a bit of a stupid/pointless question but im interested to know, on the impreza saloon why the UK models dont have a rear wiper but the imports do, ie WRX/STI.
Surely there's more need for them in the UK for all the extra rain we get, or does Japan suffer from worse rain than us.
Can anyone explain this?

The rear wiper went the way of the folding wingmirrors, better brakes, more powerful engine, DCCD, better audio, aircon etc etc.

ALL were taken off for extra profit for Subaru, then the car was sold to us for a LOT more money than the Japs paid for theirs.

And before anyone mentions export, it doesn't add up: a hotter better specced CTR is exported to Japan from here and costs LESS there!

Not for nowt do the Japs refer to the UK as "Treasure Island".

don't the jdm models not get a heated rear window tho

also does anyone know if the wipers can be fitted from an import on to a uk model? i.e just cutting a hole in rear window and some wiring to a button to operate or something

Have a word with GradeA breakers at Hayfield in the High Peak. I bought a "kit" from them: rear screen with hole from JDM car, rear wiper, motor, pump, reservoir and bracket, ditto, and a stalk with the wiper switch from a UK wagon.

Total cost was £200, and about another £15 for a relay and associated wiring.

A mate who is a w/s fitter swapped the screen out and I did the rest, about a day's work in all.
