I'm not aware of a new "larger" shape Forester out there. It could have been a demo tarted up with spoiler, bull bars and bumper extensions. They add quite a bit of bulk to it.
Perhaps the darker coloured ones look bigger?
The Jap Sti looks like a mobile brick so it could have been an import jobbie?

There seems to be a facelift about a year ago, affecting the bonnet, front lights, hatch & rear lights but it didn't increase the size.

Meant to post this a while back.

As some know I'm looking for another car for my partner. She happened to see a Forrester a while ago, and she's convinced it looked bigger than the standard one, so we're wondering if there is a 'forrester outback'

Might have looked bigger as a result of color, dunno.

Not sure if it was UK or Import,

If was to go for forrester then it'd have to be S/tb
