HI everyone i have just brought a 93 import..always wanted one but not a machanic only had it a week and now it not rev above 4500rpm and been told its gone in to safe mode?how do i sort this....help..

unplug the battery for an hour. should do the trick. I may be wrong but it wont do any harm.

All it does is reset the ecu. Give it a go.

Your speedo is working - right? otherwise it will go into safe mode.

 

Get your speedo derestricted as well. For oe you will look silly when a saxo goes past you on the motorway. lol.

 

Isnt "safe mode" the same as "limp home"? If it is then it is a sign that there is something amiss in the engine area...
I would take it to an engine area specialist who will check the engine area and confirm whether there is a fault in that area.

 

Is the Check Engine Light on??
If in Limp mode I would have thought this would be on

You need to check your ECU to find out the error code to look at possible causes.

Post your results back here when you get the code fairly easy to do.
