Cool Cost anyone?.... A rear shocker!

My rear shocker on my 03 STi has decided to go a-clank-a-pop-knock on me and needs replacing....

I'd be interested to know if anyone here has had this work undertaken by a Subaru garage, and if so how much did it cost?

Thanks chaps, DCI

slightly different but my rear shock went on my 2000 P1 local subaru dealership wnated £260 plus vat for the part the £110 pound per hour labour said it would be two hours so took a trip to the guys at subaru4you and had a full set of KYB adjustabls fitted for £140 a corner if i remember right plus fitting. as it worked out that i could uprate all 4 for the same price as replacing the two rear as they really need to be doen as a pair but best as a full set

IIRC 2 rear shocks replaced cost around £900 parts and labour by a Subaru garage.

Mine had to be replaced recently, was quoted £800 by my local dealer for 2 rears, and also told that the problem may be back within a year. For £200 more I went to TAL and had Tein Coilovers fitted with a laser geom set up!

I got my rears done at Scoobyclinic. They have an exchange scheme whereby they take your shocks and replace them with the previous customers' - after modification of course. Seems to have worked quite well, still some noise but nothing like before.

Cost was £305 all in IIRC.

make sure it isn't your droplinks first i made that mistake, i bough some V6 sti shocks for £250 to replace the standard classic ones did them and it was still knocking but it was the best £250 i ever spent.
