Hi all......

My mate has a "S" plate Impreza wagon and is in need of another key for it... he has been told the key is only available from a main Stealer?

If he gets a key from the stealers does it have to be coded for the ignition by a stealer or can it be done by himself inside the car?

I remember on a Ford Focus 2000 model you done a sequence in the ignition and you could code your own keys and disable lost ones...

any help greatfully received...

My cars pre s reg, so may be different, but i just had one cut in town and it works fine, i now leave the original key at home!

 

UPDATE - been quoted £200 for a key from Main stealer !

 

and it will need to be coded as well

 

You have been quoted for the more than just a key.

A blank key for your car costs £35 from IM + about £10 for it to be cut + 15mins labour to have it coded to your vehicle.
