Default Whats needed exactly?

Evening all just looking to improve the handling of my Scooby it is a Classic turbo 2000 uk model and was just wondering what exactly I need to buy (i.e springs, dampers etc) as I haven't got a clue what I need. Basically looking to improve the overall feel of the car it is used for the School run aswell so nothing to harsh and it will not be used for track use HELP PLEASE.

If you're not going to use the car on track, & need it to remain complient for "the school run" then the standard set up you have is probably fairly good? What makes you feel it needs improving? You might want to get the geometry adjusted / corrected, or failing that a talk with a local specialist garage should give you some pointers on any specific problems or issues you might have.

There are plenty of suspension options available, most of which cost a fair amount of cash and are mainly aimed at cars that are going to see some form of track use, but these are also equally likely to leave you with either a harsh, uncompromising ride on the public road, or at best feeling no real improvement for your money.

Thanks for the reply Izzy would you just recommend getting a 4 wheel alignment done then and would this make a big difference as I have not had this done before.

I would highly recommend a Whiteline 22mm rear anti roll bar (ARB) and some steel or alloy drop links. Do a search on here and you'll find loads of threads praising this mod. Basically it reduces understeer a bit. I've got a 96 wagon turbo with standard suspension and couldn't believe the difference this mod made. I paid about 150 quid for the parts from Demon Tweeks and fitted them myself in 45 minutes, it's a simple job. Dave Featherstone is the man to ask for at DT. I think you even get a discount for mentioning Scoobynet

Eibach springs, f+r drop links and a rear ARB + geometry set up should put a smile on your face

as a guide, heres what ive had done regards the handling/suspension on the scoob...

eibach lowering springs frm scoobyparts - £140
whiteline front & rear steel droplinks frm scoobyparts - £85 for all 4
kyb agx adjustable gas shocks (change stiffness settings not height) - £350

jase @ scoobybits fitted everything in one go, and omg what a difference. i personally have the stiffest settings and it feels lovely and tight. very little roll in the corners and mybe just need the arb's front and rear to perfect it.

really does make a difference over standard floppy suspension. thing is with the eibachs, the car only sit a tiny bit lower and thus fools many until i explain what ive done. so if you wanna keep it standard looking, eibachs are the way. they say 25-35mm drop.... not in my experience, but the quality is excellent

any questions, feel free to pm me.
