Default Best Value - STI Performance Upgrade

Hi All,

I am wanting to up the performance of MY05 STI, possibly up to 320/330 BHP + Torque.

I live in the Cambridge area, can you recommend anyone in the area or is it best to travel further?? Silverstone is not too far...!

I am looking for the best deal without breaking the Bank or the Car...LOL

Any recommendations????

Cheers

View my scooby for specs.

In terms of value a remap alone will improve your car without getting hung up on numbers.

As above remap, but if you can stretch to it get a decat or sports cat downpipe fitted first.

ECUTek is £5-600 for the first one due to licence costs.

Andy Forrest remapped my car, but he is Edinburgh based so probably no good for you unless you do a group buy and get him to come to you. I've heard good things on here about Bob Rawle and Scoobyclinic, which I think are down South (?), but I can't vouch for them personally.

HI what mods or upgrades has the car got? PPP?
or standard sti, if you have ppp then 330bhp can be got with a remap,
if not then you could get an exhaust and filter and fuel pump and then remap, this could get you approx 350bhp,
is the car a 2.0 or the 2.5?

Im after the same thing! Theres a few packages that get you to 320 ish bhp with exhaust, filter, fuel pump and chip. They come in at around £1200-1500.

Not exactly - they're just outside Wellingborough. But I see what you mean.

I'd recommend Zen as well - the mapping is done by Paul Blamire (aka Pavlo) who runs it. For about 320bhp it's essentially a new fuel pump and a remap, and see where you are. If you're still a bit low then next up would be exhaust - you should certainly get that figure by then. He got me 326 on a 3" sportscat downpipe and replacement straight-through cat pipe, fuel pump and map.

If you want to come along to the next Cambridge meet (keep an eye out in the East Anglia section of the SIDC meet) on the last Tuesday of this month, then a couple of us can suggest things.

Hi there, i have got the same car as you and i have got a 3" Milltek de-cat system, green panel flter and re-mapped by Jolly Green Monster who is based down south but will drive to you for the re-map.
My car is running approx 330bhp but is soooooo much more drivable/fast/smooth which is more important than the numbers alone. The torque through the midrange is unbelievable!!
This was done to the car just before i bought it so don't know exactly what the price was but circa £1400 for the package.

Hi Killa, I have the standard 2.0 STI. How much extra BHP and Torque would I get if I just have a re-map? Looking to spend around £400 - £500.

Cheers

You'll be lucky to get a remap for that, unless you are part of a large group buy to warrant the discount. To be honest there is not much point remapping a car IMHO without a couple of "supporting" mods (especially sorting the exhaust), but having said that you could probably squeeze an extra 30bhp or so out of a standard set up.

There are quite a few places that'll do it for 400 but they wont use ecutek ... more likely open source ...

Check out mocom above think they do it ....
