Dunno !
But a re-re-map is just labour as the first £200 of the initial re-map is a licence to Ecutek for permission to use their software.

Think you may be in uncharted territory with the VF42, you'll just have to suck it and see, can't see it personaly.

I would imagine a VF42 would make around 385bhp. Take a look at the Powerstation 400bhp package. That needs a full Miltek, a hybrid Garret core turbo and larger injectors to make the quoted figure.

Your car has been remapped for 97RON, I know this from talking to Iain when I nearly bought it. Running it on and getting it mapped for V Power (99RON) will also help.

As regards the remap fee, you will only have to pay for the rolling road time, as your will already have an Ecutek license.

Once my RA-R arrives in a few weeks time I'll be fitting an FMIC, some larger injectors along with some other goodies and would hope to see near 400bhp with the setup I have planned. Will be interesting to see what you make. Keep me informed.

I also forgot to add - Don't go chasing headline figures. They're only good for bragging rights down the pub. It is far important how a car delivers its power and where that power is delivered in the rev range that counts. Driveability should be your main concern above all else in my opinion.

Why fit a FMIC to a twin scroll to chase a head line figure. Surely 380 bhp with a TMIC will be quicker and more drivable than going for 400 with a FMIC.

I'm not chasing a headline figure, I said I would just hope to see near 400bhp (from the increased charged cooling that an FMIC would give), if I don't see anywhere near that I'm not really bothered. Driveability will be key to me, so I'll also be fitting some ceramic coated headers in order to increase spool up time.

It's hard for me to explain what I'm trying achieve, but I've got a plan in my head of what parts I want to fit and the overall outcome I want. Once my RA-R arrives I'll start a thread to which I'll keep updating after each mod and what the outcome was.

I'm going the FMIC route purely because after a very spirited drive last summer in my current car (Spec C Type RA) I could feel the car backing right off, so could my passenger. It annoyed the hell out of me. Maybe I'm making the wrong choice, but I'll just to have see once I get the ball rolling.

I'm just going from what my mapper told me. Indeed he doesn't recommend a FMIC until 430bhp on a JDM car. Under 400bhp, you'll just be introducing unnecessary lag. If you want cooler charge temps, move up here!

LOL. I'll give it some thought, only the trip to work would be a very long one indeed!

I was also told that the vf42 would make around 385bhp, i was looking for a bit more really so decided to go for a bigger single scroll and fmic and love how it pulls from 4k to the 8k rev limit now

If you already have the ecutek licence then the JollyGreenMonster (Simon) charges £350 for subsequent maps.
