hi my mate has a 2002 sti impreza version 8 (one after bugeye) and when putting the code in vrt system here in ireland its coming up as wrx just. it apparently was imported into japan in 2003 to uk. its code is gda b4hd and in section 10 of tax book it has date of first reg 01/09/2003 and beside it in brackets (decl/d manuf 2002)......... does anyone know what this means. it has sti engine, brembo brakes and 6-speed box and ive never questioned it being anything other than sti till put code into vrt system today ???? any help lads please..............

 

GDA is WRX, GDB is STi.

 

Check interior... sti on seats, sti dials, brembo rear brakes, lightweight alloy bonnet, all can be copied, but someone wouldnt dress up a wrx to look like a sti, its not worth it financially, the engine alone is £2k plus fitting, wiring etc, same again for gearbox fitted...

 

ya its a sti engine, brakes. seats, steering wheel but as a i said its gda code and gallois reckons above gda is code for wrx. bit confusing to me it looks perfect just code annoying him !!!

 

more than likely just a glitch when importing it. I know a lot of classics are GL's due to how they were imported.

I wouldnt worry about it!

 

ya put in gdb code and still comes up impreza wrx but 2 grand more expensive so think he is better of way it is ha ha. thanks
