can i hear knocking

can i hear knocking
hi some advice please.
around 4000rpm i can hear a low knocking from the engine and have a suspicion it's the bottom end bearings.
if this is the case roughly how much will it cost to get it done in a local garage. im no machanic so could be wrong it's just if i slowly increase the rpm in a gear you can hear the low rumble about 4000rpm.
