Default How many miles are you getting from a tank?

I have a Sport and I am getting between 220-235 miles to a tank (50ltr). I was thinking, that maybe a turbo would do a few more miles to a tank as I would not have to rev the engine quite as much to accelerate, say when over taking.

320bhp turbo classic. 50lts = 250mls around town and on A roads.

Went on a long motorway journey last week and saw 200mls with half a tank. Roughly 30lts

Just go for it..............you know you want to and are just looking for encouragement.

PS not sure your reasoning will lead to lower consumption as you will become addicted to flooring it.

I drive a mixture of 40 ish motorway miles every day and then london traffic (so stop, start ). Give it some beans and a healthy dose of the loud pedal and without fail I get around 280 per tank.

Went on a motorway trip a while ago with plenty of fun and got 325 out of one tank

not bad for a thirsty classic..the trick is in the map I hear, making it more economical

I currently own both a turbo and a sport.

Sport (Phase 1 115BHP) does 260-350 miles per tank. Normally 260.

My turbo (290BHP) does 220-320 miles per tank. Normally 220.

Remap is the key. AndyF asked me what my normal driving speed on the motorway was and mapped it accordingly. (around 80mph) As I said, first time on the motorway after that, I saw 200mls with half a tank. 90mhp on way home saw 200mls with 3/4 of a tank

Still wanna know what the threshold for the fuel light is.
They are 60 litre tanks in the hawkeye I believe, but the fuel light is on with 45 litres gone. So in theory I could get a lot more to a tank lol

Thanks for the replies lads. So it seems my sport is about in the middle compared to your turbos on miles to a tank. I know I want a turbo, but I want a good one and they cost more than your run of the mill Impreza's (probably going to get the book thrown at me for saying that).

I managed 310 this week before the light came on! That's from two rather long journeys though. I normally get about 240 before it says it's thirsty.
