Subaru wave while driving.

Okay. I've had mine for a couple of weeks now, and there is definately a click with fellow Subaru Impreza drivers, i.e. a quick wave as you pass one going in the opposite direction. I used to get this when I had the Lancia Delta and the Alfa to some degree.
A while back, whilst out with a friend in his WRX, a guy in a classic waved but my friend did not return the gesture, stating the other guy wasn't in the same club as him and was a wannabee (bit of snob by the sounds of it to be polite!!). Yet I have been waved at by WRZ's, STi's etc so I'm assuming that anything goes.
Is there a 'click' or was my mate just being an ****??
Is there any club etiquette I should be aware of?
Whatever, love being in the club. Saw quite a few over The Cat and Fiddle today.

The bird thinks I'm a poper tool for giving the waves - so when she's in the car I go well over the top flashing and waving my hand out of the window like a lune!! But yep, I flash every scoob I see!

I saw plenty on friday and exchanged waves with all but one, the driver of that one was a uniformed member of Lincolnshire Police and whilst he didnt wave at me he certainly looked at me and the car!!

I feel a total Tw@t now, as I've had mine for nearly three years and never knew there was a wave, to be fair tho, the only other scoob owners who have waved to me have been mates. I'll start the trend around here tomorrow !!

think everyone gets blanked now and then,it does make you feel a bit of a tw@t when you dont get the wave back..when i first got a scoob,i used to have cars beep at me while sitting at traffic lights, and im thinking WTF is that all about why are they waving and beeping..sometimes even now when i see another scoob,i think should i wave or not, what if i get blanked.but who cares, just wave and pretend your scratching the side of your head or something if ya dont get the wave back..

I find that all scoob drivers in my area will give a wave and as someone else said most evo drivers too. The only ones that don't wave back are the P1 drivers, there is 2 or 3 around here and they all look at me like a complete loon for waving at them. Needless to say I don't even bother to look at them now, only in the rearview mirror when I've smoked him

I've had my scoob for just over 2 years now. For the most part everyone seems to wave back but recently I've noticed a few that haven't
My missus thought it was stupid but now she's a member of the WYIOC she seems to appreciate it
Although, i think she still finds it a little amusing

I generally wave to all Scoobs, I have been known to just catch them as they are passing so by the time i notice its too late.
I would just like to take this moment to say sorry to those affected by my lack of Scooby recognition. I now have my missus as my co-driver and chief spotter.
